THE 13th ANNUAL TASTE OF BLACK CHARLESTON
Experience the Taste of Black Charleston!
Step into a world where every dish tells a story and every flavor sings of history. On March 7, 2025, join us at the Charleston Visitors Center for a night where our culinary culture takes center stage, from 7:30 pm to 11:00 pm.
This is an elegant affair where attendees enjoy delectable bites from the Lowcountry’s best chefs, caterers and restaurants. Chefs enter for their chance to win our “Best Display”, “Best Savory”,“Best Sweet” or “Best Food Truck”, all with $1000 cash prizes for the winners all while marketing their business to future clients. This year will feature the Live in the Flesh Band and the all new Culinary Suite presented by the ZD Experience and powered by Motley Rice. This immersive experience will feature live cooking demonstrations by Chef Rashaunda Grant and Chef Elaina Ruth, art by Christine Johnson and Daniel Green and curated sounds by the Gullah Collective.

BLACK EXPO CHARLESTON
Join us on March 8, 2025, at the Charleston Convention Center from 10 am to 5 pm for the Charleston Black Expo.
Expo is a celebration of Black entrepreneurship and empowerment, featuring a variety of activities, including economic empowerment workshops, VIP Lounge by Tito’s Vodka, Health Pavilion, Job Fair, Senior Lounge by Humana, and a Kids Zone. This year’s event will also feature the Neighborhood Workout, Spades Tournament, free produce distribution by Change SC, and $15 Black Expo Bucks that attendees can spend with the vendors. An event for the entire family, the Charleston Black Expo will host a Fireside Chat with Kirk Franklin as well as actor Cory Hardrict and performances by R&B Diva Syleena Johnson and the Line Dance King Cupid. Attendees are encouraged to register for and attend a morning workshop to obtain free entry into the expo.
Experience a day filled with enriching talks, cultural exhibitions, and a showcase of Black business excellence. Come, be inspired, network, and shop with local vendors.
