“Terms and Conditions” The legal agreements set out below govern your use of the Black Expo Website (“Services”). The rules and regulations set forth by Black Expo South apply to the online registration and payment service and are incorporated by reference here. To agree to these terms, Click “agree” if you do not agree to these terms, don not click “agree”, and do not use the service.
EXHIBITOR/VENDOR INFORMATION

Remember that this information is subject to change based on venue restrictions and regulations, but all vendors will be notified of any changes. Vendors will receive a copy of the Rules and Regulations upon final payment, and booth selection
PAYMENT SUBMISSION
Remember that your application is incomplete until a payment has been applied and successfully cleared.
Your application is not complete until the balance has been received.
Checks: If you decide to make a payment via Personal or Business Check, please mail your payment immediately to Black Expo South | 1806 Washington Street | Columbia, South Carolina 29201. We will honor any payments at Early Bird or Advanced Rates sent via US Postal Service that are post-marked before the respective rate’s deadline. Any business that submits a payment post-marked after a deadline (Early Bird or Advance) will be contacted for the balance of their payment. Checks are not accepted two weeks prior to your selected Expo event.
Returned Checks: In the unfortunate event that a check written to Black Expo South is returned unpaid for any reason, the check will be charged back to the payee's account, and the payee will be responsible for payment of that check. A $35.00 returned check fee will be charged for each item returned from a bank regardless of the reason it was returned. Your vendor application will be suspended until the check is paid.
Refund Policy: We do not provide refunds after a vendor booth is purchased. If you are unable to attend the Black Expo due to serious injury or illness, death, natural disaster, or military duty, please contact us at (803) 254-6404 with details of the occurrence. We will fully examine the circumstances, and notify you via e-mail, within a reasonable period of time, whether you are entitled to a refund or an exchange for another Black Expo event. If you are entitled to a refund, we will refund the purchase price, using the original method of payment.
LIABILITY
Exhibitor agrees that it will indemnify and save Show Management harmless from and against all claims on account of injury to any person to the extent that any such injury was caused wholly or in part by an act or omission of exhibitor or any of its agents, employees, contractors, guests, licensees or invitees. The Indemnification of Show Management by Exhibitor is effective unless such injury was caused by the sole negligence, or gross negligence or willful misconduct of Show Management. Exhibitor agrees that if Show Management is made a party to any litigation commenced by or against Exhibitor, or relating to this Agreement, then Exhibitor will pay all costs and expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees, incurred by or imposed upon Show Management by reason of such litigation. Exhibitor shall have its own insurance at its expense in commercially reasonable amounts to cover loss or damage to property or injury to persons, and to cover its obligations under this section.
The purpose of the Black Expo is to promote economic development through increased exposure for minority-owned businesses. We are excited to have you on board as an exhibitor!
THIS HOLD HARMLESS AND RELEASE AGREEMENT (this “Agreement”) is made effective as of this day of electronic submission (the “Effective Date”), by (“Vendor”) in favor of Black Pages International, a South Carolina nonprofit (the “TASTE OF” BLACK COLUMBIA), and THOMAS MEDIA GROUP (TMG) doing business as the BLACK EXPO and the SOUTH CAROLINA BLACKPAGES.
WHEREAS, Vendors intends to participate in one or more events at The Black Expo Event (the “Event”), which will include the preparation and provision of items of food and /or drink at the Black Expo (“Event”) without the assistance of Black Pages International , Thomas Media Group and any of its entities.
NOW THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the Black Pages International, TMG and the South Carolina Black Pages agreement not to object to Vendor’s participation in the Event and promises, covenants, indemnities and agreements contained herein, and other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, Vendor agrees as follows:
1. To the fullest extent permitted under law, Vendor does hereby covenant and agree, without limitations, to indemnify, release and hold Black Pages International, TMG and South Carolina Black Pages, their members, officers, directors and representatives harmless, of, from, and against any and all claims, actions, damages, injures, losses, liabilities and expenses (including penalties, taxes, attorneys’ fees and other professional fees), judgments, settlement payments, and fines of any nature whatsoever, whether actual of alleged, resulting from, or arising out of , or in any way connected with the Vendor’s participation and activities at or related to the Taste of Black ( the “Event”), including but not limited to, those resulting from or arising out of the Vendor’s preparation and provision of items of food and drink at the venue in connection with the Taste of Black Event. Vendor’s obligations pursuant to this section shall survive indefinitely.
2. Vendor understands and acknowledges that Black Pages International, TMG and South Carolina Black Pages and all of its entities have no responsibility for the quality, preparation or storage of any food or beverages to be sampled or dispensed by Vendor in conjunction with the Event. Vendor must comply with all laws, rules, and regulations applicable to the purchase, storage, and preparation or dispensing of the food and beverage products in conjunction with the Event.
3. This Agreement is governed buy and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to its choice of law provisions.
