7th ANNUAL TASTE OF BLACK
Celebrating Local Caterers, Chefs, and Restaurants
May 19th, 2017
South Carolina State Museum | 301 Gervais Street– Columbia, SC
The “Taste Of” is designed to allow our attendees the opportunity to savor the participant specialties whether they try a small “Taste” or a full entree. Each year, the taste aims to highlight a diverse selection of caterers, chefs and restaurants in our community.
Here’s your chance to get your specialties into the mouths that matter. This is a great marketing opportunity. Participants tend to receive a great bounce back with increased business and brand exposure immediately following the The Taste Of.
Although we want you to have a positive experience on site, our goal is to drive business back to your locations to expose our attendees to your complete menu and turn them into repeat customers.
Proceeds to benefit local charities.
There’s still time to register for the 7th Annual Taste of Black Columbia for your chance to win $500 in one of our “Best of Taste” categories.
Hurry! Deadline is April 22nd.

2017 Taste of Black Participants!
Certified SC Grown
The Taste of Black Columbia is proud to announce a new partnership of 2017 and we want
you to participate! Participation is easy and simple because you are already apart of the
Taste of Black Columbia.
It’s simple! Here’s what we need from you:
• Utilize two (2) South Carolina grown products in your recipe for the dish you elect to
serve at the “Taste of “ event.
Please visit the South Carolina Department of Agriculture website
[www.certifiedscgrown.com] to review the list of certified products that you may use.
It is very important that you let us know if you desire to participate in this
category by selecting the option on the application. Please provide us with
a copy of the qualifying ingredients in order to demonstrate
your use of Certified South Carolina Grown approved products.
Additionally, chefs that participate will have table signage and be included in our marketing
campaign to promote the use of Certified South Carolina Grown products throughout 2017.
Chefs don’t miss out on this opportunity to enter a second category for the Taste of Black
The Certified South Carolina Grown Program serves as a platform for consumers to buy
“fresher”, “tastier” foods while supporting local farmers. So whether it’s from juicy apples to
creamy butter, this program prides itself on providing the best food with a total of One
Hundred and Twenty-Two Certified South Carolina Grown products.
“Food that’s local means food that’s fresher and tastier”
The winner of the Certified South Carolina Grown Program will receive a monetary award
