Black Expo Activities

The health and wellness area is a major component of the Black Expo. This area is an educational and interactive space designed to provide basic preventive medicine and free medical screenings to people in the community. Typically, the following screenings are available at the Black Expo free of charge:

Blood Pressure
Bone Density
Bone Marrow
Cholesterol
Dental
Foot Evaluations
Glucose (diabetes)
Hepatitis
PSA
Posture
Vision Evaluations
Attendees will also find healthy cooking demonstrations, a health resource center, nutrition center, fitness center and demonstrations, pharmacy or medication counseling, health fair stage or health and beauty spa advice.

Black Expo offers fun for the entire family! The Kids Zone is a play area for kids during the expo. Activities offered for children in the Kids Zone may include:
Celebrity guest appearance by child star
Magic Shows
Jump castles
Face painting
Storytelling
Karaoke
Arts and Crafts
Character appearances such as Ronald McDonald

The Greek Village is a fun and action-packed area consisting of all “Divine Nine” sororities and fraternities of the Divine 9. Each have a booth display to represent their organization and its philanthropies.

A little friendly competition is also involved; awards are given to the organization with the best Greek display and the best attendance. All alumni and undergraduate chapters from the area are encouraged to come together in Greek unity to fellowship, educate, stroll, and raise money for a charity.

Select partners have the opportunity to conduct a seminar during the expo. Seminars are one-hour sessions, usually focusing on a topic to enhance the attendee’s professional, financial or personal growth.

Preparing for you financial future
Finding a career in today’s economy
Money and your relationship with it
What does your hair say about your health?
Family budgeting and obtaining personal or business credit
Building your business one network at a time
Creating a cleaner city

Each expo has a local talent stage where locals can showcase their talent to their community. Singing, dancing, spoken word, and a variety of other talents are performed on the stage throughout the day.
Previous national recording artists include: Jahiem, Tank, Joe, Vickie Winans, Chrisette Michele, Gerald Levert, Dougie Fresh, Anthony Hamilton, Tyrese, LL Cool J, Avant, Tye Tribbett, Morris Day and the Times, George Benson, Mindless Behavior, Big Daddy Kane, SEVYN Streeter, and others.
Previous celebrity guests include: Vivica Fox, NeNe Leaks, David and Tamela Mann, Morris Chestnut, LisaRaye McCoy, Nia Long, Hosea Chanchez, China Anne McClain, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Tavis Smiley, Kyle Massey and others.
